 Some Carmargue horses have been brought to the site, a breed which, for its physical characteristics (large hooves and fairly small size) is especially adapted to life in wetlands. |

 The horses are divided into two groups: one is made up of trained animals used by reserve staff and for guided visits, the second group, on the other hand, lives in a semiwild state and is used to control the vegetation in certain parts of the reserve. |
